Zumba Gold is designed as the sister program to Zumba, specifically for active older adults. And the format is designed to ensure we all get the most out of our hour of exercising. The benefits are best suited to anyone who meets some, or all, of the following:

  • Still young in spirit but no longer able and/or wanting to keep up in a high-energy class.

  • Enjoy dancing/exercise to music.

  • Looking for social group exercise with like-minded adults.

  • Want to exercise without feeling pain or getting hurt.

  • May need modifications to allow for medical issues or physical limitations.

  • Celebrate being alive and loving life regardless of age.

The overall goals of the Zumba Gold program are:

  • Improve quality of life

  • Maintain functional skills for activities of daily living

  • Improve physical and mental health

  • Help us age successfully

These are achieved through a combination of moves, speeds and formats throughout the tracks to support physical and mental health benefits, including:

  • Improved cardiovascular capacity

  • Improved overall muscular strength and endurance

  • Improved bone density, prevention of osteoporosis

  • Preserved, restored, and/or improved flexibility

  • Improved range of motion

  • Improved posture

  • Improved balance and coordination

  • Improved cognitive function

  • Improved motor control and performance/agility
